It All Started with a Love of Tea

Our founder, Stephen Lee, has a rich 40-year history with tea, but he didn’t learn about kombucha until after he co-founded Stash Tea and Tazo Tea.

Lee discovered the sparkling fermented tea on a trip to Russia in the early 90s, and he was fascinated. He was determined to find a way to share the wonder of this incredible elixir. When he returned to Oregon in 1999, Wonder Drink was born.

Wonder Drink was one of the first brands to launch the now $600 million category, making waves in the beverage industry and doing some heavy lifting to introduce this new concept in the US. The company focused on educating consumers on the incredible health benefits of kombucha and garnered loyal brand supporters across the country.
